On the other hand, job promotions mean nothing to me. I rather help people, including the elderly in my community as an alternative showing why helping people is a job promotion to me. Who needs job promotions when helping people in the community is an alternative?

As an islander, I am quite confused about what he is trying to explain to me. I managed to persuade a cargo ship to take me back to the mainland so I could visit an internet cafe and seek more information. That's how I ended up here. I am trying to find information about apples, but all I see are images of metallic plates that people hold in their hands to appear important. I am truly lost.

Don’t listen to her. You prove your worth to yourself. Show your managers that the person they picked to promote was the wrong choice. Don’t congratulate the wrong choice. The only person who holds you back from being promoted is you. Once you show your managers they picked wrong they will recommend you to the store manager again to be promoted.

I work at a company that values diversity and it could’ve been a shortcoming but there is a also a big chance I wasn’t gay enough/black enough/asian enough whatever race they were looking for to help meet there diversity quota.. seems like everyone in the position I am going for is some sort of minority rather it be gay/lesbian/middle eastern Asian there are multiple team leads and a lot of them are terrible and you wonder how they got the position but they have the same thing in common that they are some sort of minority and not all the same.. unless they are gay or trans then it seems you will are more likely to get an opportunity.

agreed with him in most of the use cases who made maximum profit banning flash - Apple & Adobe who looses - rest of the world How - 1. Use apple eco system in order to publish iPhone app - pay for this eco system to apple 2. Use some of stupid tool as an alternative to flash - pay for this to Adobe 3. Use separate code base to develop Android ,iPhone and Web app - spend more and more money to hire different skilled resources 4. Run away with excuses (Apple, Google, Microsoft, Adobe and other) - Hey use HTML5 ...... F*C*K

Sadly, promotion nowadays has very little to do with your performance within the workplace. Instead, it deals more with your relationship (network) within the organization. It's not about what you know or what you do, but it is all about who you know. Focus on perfecting your image and exposure within the workplace, and you will begin to see more doors open for you.

Last year I passed over for a Team Lead position. I was told I didn't have the mentality to work with associates and team leads although I had a management role and 5 years with the company, they gave the position to someone with no management experience and was with the company less than I have. Who recently was demoted. So, now I'm going for that same position. I worked hard on my peers but this year I was told I have good peers but I don't have leadership skills. Hmmmm....

It’s literally all about relationships. My advice to any kid growing up now….don’t worry about hard work and dedication. It isn’t needed. Go in and suck on your boss any way he will let you, make him feel like he’s the best dude ever, and go to any functions or activities outside of work you can with him, and you will move up quickly. Hard workers don’t have time to hang out with their bosses and stroke their very sensitive egos. And because you always take care of things when they need it, they have time to hang out with their friends and aren’t worried about moving you up as your actually the one that’s hard to replace. That’s why so many people don’t get the job they feel they deserve. It’s hard to believe these style of bosses can sleep at night or look at themselves in the mirror. I personally would be embarrassed treating other hard working people like this. Especially the ones climbing mountains for me.

What really blows my mind is after putting your all in your work neglecting family time. They can still feel you not suitable. Then what advice are we given, see where you went wrong and improve. Meaning work even harder. Yet other people work less and get promoted. I personally think that never put your all in your work and you might actually get promoted.😁
